AΩE is a professional and social sorority that promotes women in engineering and technical sciences founded November 13, 1983. Our chapter welcomes women from all S.T.E.M majors to join our sisterhood and stay connected with us after they become alumni.
The Beta Kappa chapter at UNC Charlotte was founded on January 26, 2013. We promote ideals and objectives that strive to change the participation of females in the Engineering & Technical Sciences career fields while creating lifelong bonds.

Our Involvement
Community Involvement
We are committed to giving back to our community through regular volunteer work at local food pantries, including Jamil’s Student Pantry, where we help address food insecurity among students and families in need. We also support local FIRST Robotics teams by mentoring and uplifting young women in STEM, encouraging the next generation of innovators to pursue their passions with confidence.
Philanthropy
We proudly support and advocate for St. Baldrick’s, raising funds and awareness for childhood cancer research through ongoing involvement and service. Our chapter is also a dedicated supporter of FIRST Robotics, with many of our sisters being alumnae of teams across North Carolina. Through mentorship and outreach, we continue to empower young students, especially girls, to pursue their interests in STEM.
Social
Our social events are all about building strong sisterhood and celebrating the diverse interests and cultures within our chapter. We host sisterhood bonding activities, take part in Greek mixers, and collaborate on events with organizations like Girls Who Code and the Society of Women Engineers. From fun gatherings to meaningful partnerships, there's always something happening that brings us closer together.
Career Development
We actively collaborate with local STEM companies and recruiters to build a strong professional presence and sharpen career skills. Through our diverse alumnae network and active LinkedIn page, sisters gain valuable connections, insights, and mentorship across a wide range of industries. We also hold mock interviews with alumnae and professionals to help members feel confident and prepared for internships and life after
Sister Majors
We do not have a required major or set of majors to join, we take into consideration all who promote and support women in S.T.E.M during the recruitment process!
